Making a splash!

The theme this year is “Making A Splash”.  This theme was decided by a group of local volunteer committee members to celebrate all the underwater adventures you can have as a kid. From The Little Mermaid, to Nemo, to Aquaman, we’re excited to be “Making a Splash” at Ankeny Chamber SummerFest this July and we hope you are too!

General Event Info

The theme this year is “Making A Splash”.  This theme was decided by a group of local volunteer committee members to celebrate all the underwater adventures you can have as a kid. The theme is mainly used for the parade float inspiration, family fun activities, and kiddie parade inspiration. Every year we have a fun theme and color contest to go along with it.

Friday 4PM-11PM, Saturday 11AM-11PM with Grand Parade at 9AM, and Sunday 1PM-10PM

Parking spaces will be limited on Ankeny Chamber SummerFest grounds. Please park at the DMACC campus and a shuttle will transport you to and from the entrance. 

 

The District is the entertainment center of Prairie Trail, a 1,031-acre community located – just East of SW State Street in the middle of Ankeny, IA

Yes! ATMs will be located near ticket booths.

You will find Family Fun Night and the Kiddie Parade in Uptown Ankeny near the Ankeny Market and Pavilion starting at 4pm on Friday. The Kiddie Parade begins at 6:30pm. Family Fun Night ends at 8pm.

Ankeny Chamber Summerfest is located in The District at Prairie Trail.

Shuttles will pick up and drop off guests at a the Flag Poles in one of the main DMACC parking lot. Shuttle Times: Friday, July 12th: 3:30pm - 12:00am Saturday, July 13th: 10:30am-12:00am Sunday, July 14th: 12:30pm-11pm

Walk

Take advantage of a beautiful day and use the local Ankeny trails to walk to Ankeny Chamber Summerfest. The District at Prairie Trail and Ankeny Chamber Summerfest grounds are also Handicap Accessible.

Bike

Utilize the trails and ride your bike to Ankeny Chamber Summerfest! What a great way to avoid the traffic!
Any bike left behind after grounds closes each night is owner's responsibility.

The parade starts at Southview Middle School.

This route is a little less than 2 miles long.

Making A Splash!

Anyone who registers: Example = Civic organization, Church, Business, political  candidates, family, special entry 

Community Groups: $30

General Parade Fee – Chamber Members: $70

General Parade Fee – Non-Members: $100

Political Parties: $125

Signs will be posted on parade route; No parking after 8:15 AM 

Judging will be held in Uptown Ankeny during the parade route. Winners will be notified  after the conclusion of the parade. Encouraged to take a photo of your entry to share  with the Chamber in case you win! Chamber will post photo at Ankeny Chamber SummerFest, announce winners on social media, and invite winners to appear on stage to receive their trophy!

Food & Beverage

There will be stations located in the Entertainment Garden and near the North entrance to purchase beer tickets. 

All drink tickets can be used for domestic and crafts beers along with non-alcoholic beverages.

No cash will be accepted at the Beer Tents – tickets must be purchased. Must be 21+ to drink. IDs will be checked at all entrances.

We ask that you do not bring any outside food, alcohol or any other beverages to Ankeny Chamber SummerFest.  Water jugs will be available and soda can be purchased from the food vendors on-site.

FAQ

Rules & Safety

The Smokefree Air Act applies to all of the Ankeny Chamber SummerFest grounds. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on grounds. This is a state law that will be enforced.

Ankeny Chamber Summerfest is a pet-free zone so please leave those furry friends at home. This policy will be posted and enforced.

Ankeny Chamber SummerFest reserves the right to search all bags, backpacks, coolers, purses, containers etc. upon entry and re-entry. Refusal to comply will result in denied entry.

Wristbands can be purchased on the Carnival grounds.

Near the Headquarters tent. There will be a tub marked LOST & FOUND.

Yes, feel free to bring your own lawn chair in the grassy area near the fountain and enjoy the music. There will be limited seating available in the shade.

Guns are prohibited on all Ankeny Chamber SummerFest grounds. We are a weapons-free event!
